CADASAL-Kenya Background

Christian Approach to Development in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands of Kenya (CADASAL-Kenya) was started in 1994 as self-help group. Later it grew to a Community Based Organization with a greater mandate. The genesis of the group was out of great desire to mobilize rural people in Mbeere to address poverty and recurrent famine that occur frequently in that region. CADASAL-Kenya implement projects and also provide support services to other over 40 self-help groups found in arid and semi-arid areas. Since then CADASAL-Kenya has expanded with activities starting in Kitui, Masinga, Tharaka, Narok and Naivasha regions of Kenya.

Remain true to the calling of our Lord Jesus Christ through enabling holistic transformation of communities living in semi-arid and arid regions of Kenya.

Our mission is to reach out people living in rural arid and semi-arid lands; empower them with information and skills in order to improve their ability to participate in managing resources for their own benefit and for the generations to come.
